Tesco, Asda, Aldi and Sainsbury’s remove products from shelves over health concerns

More popular food items are being pulled from supermarket shelves due to health and disease concerns.

Tesco, Asda, Aldi, Sainsbury’s, Waitrose and Ocado are among the main UK retailers affected by the recall notices.

According to the Food Standards Agency (FSA), the products in question include chicken goujons, crisps, wafers and crackers.

They’re part of a new batch of point-of-sale notices announced this week that require customers to check their refrigerators and cabinets.

The FSA has released full details of the latest food recalls, including their picture, package size, lot code and expiration date.

Customers who have purchased the affected items listed below should not eat or use them in any way.

Instead, simply return them to the supermarket or store where they were purchased in exchange for a full refund.

In most cases, buyers will not need to have a receipt with them to return the recalled items.

Chicken dowels



Roosters Breaded Chicken Goujons

Aldi is recalling Roosters Breaded Chicken Studs from the marketplace because Salmonella has been detected in the product.

Lot codes: 20300B and 20323B

Best before: October 2021 and November 2021

The FSA said: “The presence of Salmonella in the product listed above. Symptoms caused by Salmonella generally include fever, diarrhea and abdominal cramps.”

Some packages contain Thai Chili & Lime flavored rice and pea crisps containing milk not listed on the label.

This means that the product poses a potential risk to the health of anyone who is allergic or intolerant to milk or its components.

The crisps are sold in various UK supermarkets including Tesco, Sainsbury’s, Asda, Waitrose and Ocado.

This product is sold only in Sainsburys stores.
