In the United States, SUEZ signed a series of water and wastewater treatment service contracts for a total turnover of more than $ 223 million, including a major operation and maintenance contract in Massachusetts, worth $ 164 million over 20 years. Through these agreements, SUEZ will support its customers in providing quality services while improving their quality of life and continuing to build a sustainable environment.

20-year, $ 164 million O&M contract in Massachusetts
SUEZ has been selected by the Lynn, Massachusetts Water and Sewer Commission to operate, manage and maintain the Lynn wastewater treatment plant and 13 pumping stations. The contract begins on July 1, 2021 and is expected to run until 2041. As part of the agreement, SUEZ will partner with AECOM Technical Services and CH Nickerson to achieve more than € 54 million in capital improvements on the 40-year-old Lynn Regional wastewater treatment plant. SUEZ expands its presence in Mississippi with a new water service contract with the city of Ellisville
In Mississippi, SUEZ signed an agreement with the city of Ellisville to operate and maintain the city’s water and sanitation operations for the next five years. Under the terms of the contract, SUEZ will operate and maintain Ellisville’s water treatment and distribution system, as well as its wastewater collection and treatment systems. These include two elevated water storage tanks and an underground, five wells, 16 sewage lifting stations and two sewage treatment lagoons. SUEZ has provided water and sanitation services to over 20,000 customers in Laurel, MS, since 2006.
City of Poughkeepsie, NY Extends Contract with SUEZ to Operate and Maintain Arlington Water Pollution Control Facility
In New York State, the City of Poughkeepsie, NY, extended its contract with SUEZ for the operation and maintenance of the Arlington Water Pollution Control Facility for an additional eight years and half. The extension, which is valued at nearly $ 18 million, will cover capital work and plant maintenance. The operation and maintenance contract for the Arlington Water Pollution Control Facility, which has an average daily dry-weather flow rate of 2.5 million gallons per day, will continue to serve the 15 000 people throughout the Poughkeepsie service area. The new contract is scheduled to begin on July 5, 2021 and will continue to build a sustainable future for the City of Poughkeepsie for years to come.
New water treatment plant serving Rhode Island community recycles waste and protects river
SUEZ, in close collaboration with its engineering partner AECOM and the city of Woonsocket, has started operating a state-of-the-art water treatment plant that will help the city meet the growing demand for potable water, while by protecting the fragile Blackstone River. SUEZ will operate the seven million gallon per day plant and a raw water pumping station under a 20-year, $ 40 million agreement. The collaboration between the town of Woonsocket, AECOM and SUEZ will resolve the community’s environmental concerns and provide the town’s 40,000 residents with better quality water thanks to the advanced design of the water treatment plant. The operation of the mill is the latest in a series of initiatives aimed at improving the life and health of the Blackstone River, which at one time had more than 1,000 factories built along its banks.
