New price of 1.07L Ather electric scooter in Gujarat is lowest in India
Thanks to the policy of Central FAME II and the National Electric Vehicle Policy, the prices of all electric vehicles in Gujarat are expected to be the cheapest in the country.
With the government of Gujarat rolling out its new electric vehicle policy, all brands of electric vehicles (EVs) are expected to benefit. These benefits will in turn be extended in the form of reduced prices for electric vehicles across the state. For example, Ather reduced the prices of its electric scooters after implementing the benefits of Gujarat’s EV policy.
Ather 450X, 450 Plus reduced prices
The price of its model range starts at Rs 1.07 lakh (ex-showroom) for 450 Plus. This is the lowest price of Ather electric scooter in India. Before that, the price of the electric scooter was set at 1.25 lakh, which means a deduction of Rs 18,000. Last month, the prices of 450 Plus stood at 1.40 lakh, however, after the setting up. Under the FAME II policy, these prices have been reduced by Rs. 14,500. All prices are understood to be ex-showroom.
On the other hand, the brand’s premium 450X electric scooter is now priced at around Rs 1.27 lakh after a subsidy of Rs 17,000 which is in addition to the revised FAME II policy. After applying the national FAME II policy, the price of Ather 450X has been reduced to Rs 1.44 lakh (ex-showroom). Before all this, the price of 450X was around Rs 1.60 lakh (ex-showroom) varying slightly depending on location.
Benefits of Gujarat EV Policy
Other brands of electric vehicles are also expected to cut prices for their models soon after applying the subsidy from Gujarat’s electric vehicle policy. This subsidy will be in addition to the advantages enjoyed by the FAME II policy.
The government of Gujarat recently announced that it will offer double the amount of the subsidy compared to other states, which will be applicable on a per kW basis. However, a cap has been set for all electric vehicles. Two-wheelers can receive a subsidy of up to Rs 20,000, while three-wheelers receive allowances of up to Rs 1.5 lakh.
For four-wheeled vehicles, the subsidy was limited to Rs 2 lakh per EV. All these subsidies are in addition to the benefits offered in the FAME II scheme. Over the next four years, the government of Gujarat aims to increase the number of electric vehicles in the state to 2,000,000 lakh units. In other incentives, electric vehicles registered in Gujarat will not be required to pay registration fees.
